Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- This saddle is excellent value for money.
- This saddle is all about performance; perfect for high-speed riders!
- You don't move on this saddle when changing positions.
- The ergonomically shaped cut-out alleviates pressure on your soft tissue area.
- The addition of carbon to the nylon shell makes the saddle stiffer, lighter and more durable.
- This saddle is less comfortable than the Tempo Argo R5, whose main focus is on endurance.
- This medium-hard saddle is suitable for riders who cycle 1-2 times a week. If you cycle less often, you need a softer saddle that offers more comfort. If you cycle more often, you need a harder saddle that offers more support.

Description
Description
The short nose and very specific shape ensure that you stay in the exact same spot at all times. So, you do not move when moving your hands from the top of the handlebars to the drops, for example. Due to these properties as well as the ergonomically shaped cut-out, pressure in the soft tissue area is relieved very effectively.
The shell is made of carbon-reinforced nylon, which makes the saddle lightweight, stiff and long-lasting. As such, it is excellent value for money. The shell sits on an aluminium rail, which also helps to reduce weight.
Saddle shape
This saddle has a round rear part, making it highly suitable for riders who move their hips from side to side a lot during cycling. For these riders the round shape provides more freedom of movement than a saddle with a flat rear part would.
Flexibility
This is an S shape saddle, meaning that the saddle is raised at the back and lowered at the centre. The S shape enables riders with little flexibility in their spine to ride in a sporty position. This is to do with pelvic tilt: riders who are not flexible in their spine, have more trouble tilting their pelvis.
Cut-out
This saddle has a cut-out to alleviate pressure for those who often experience discomfort or pressure to their soft tissue area.

Good for shorter rides, less suitable for endurance.
Saddles are very individual so the following is just my opinion: I find the Vento Argo R5 comfortable for shorter rides. You're not 'in' the saddle like on an SMP but you don't slide back and forth either. For short rides, I wouldn't hesitate. But I also ride longer distances (>100 km) at weekends and I don't find the saddle comfortable for that. What it is, I don't know, it's not too hard (previous saddle was an SMP carbon light, until that bike was stolen) but something doesn't sit right and I think I'll look out for replacement.

Fine saddle. Shorter than my previous one but that takes some getting used to.
Fine saddle. I usually cycle around 75 km so how it goes on very long rides I can't say. The saddle is quite short but that's a matter of getting used to. Of course, Fizik has a good reputation for a reason. In short, very satisfied.
